One of these things is not like the other...

I am about to post three images and then we are going to play a little game you may have seen on sesame street as a child. It's called "One of these things is not like the other." Warning, if you have a weak stomach (the name Beany comes to mind, just saying) you may want to skips the images and just read the answer. Ready to play? Here goes.

Ok, so what are these images? The first one would be a lovely disease called Shingles. Yes, that is right, I have Shingles. Right now about half of you are wondering why i have decided to show my white belly that is obviously lacking a six pack and talk about roofing supplies. For this half just remember you are special. The other half of you are thinking my grandma had that...isn't that an old persons disease? THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!! Turns out that 1.4% of all shingle cases happen to those in my age group. Those fun little blisters showed up Thursday, September 3rd and brought along their friends itch and pain. So that is Image 1. Image 2 is TEXAS! (That's for those of you who didn't pass geography...I may or may not be in that category. Moving on.) Yes friends, September 3rd i also went to Texas. Now the last image is freaking AIDA in case you missed the title. On September 8th I went to see this at the Tuacahn theatre. Ok, now that we know what the images are lets debate. What is different? Well, they all happened to me, so that's not it. They all happened in September so that's not it. Give up? How about this, give up because I'm sure you have a smarter answer in your head that I am about to present and i would just feel better if you would humor me. After all...it's my blog. The answer you have all been waiting for is this. Shingles is not fun...Texas and Aida are! hehehe...i am so entertained by myself.

Would you like a few details? I've told almost everything about shingles except this, I am not allowed to go to work with shingles. So that means I haven't been to work in two weeks...not sure when I am going to be going back either. As cool as that sounds my vacation and sick time is all but expired and that means paycheck with soon expire with it. DRAT!

Texas was amazing. Starla and I flew down to Texas to see our friend Amy. Actually...Starla flew down to Texas. I got delayed because I may or may not have booked my flight on the wrong day and may or may not have had to buy a plane ticket at the airport counter. FYI...that is an expensive way to travel. I'm kinda thinking that was the biggest blond moment I have ever had so if you want details to mock me request and I will give. And if you want to keep any amount of respect you have for me you will nod your head and smile. Moving on. Texas as so great! We went to the zoo, the rodeo, watched a live cattle drive, ate at some AMAZING restaurants, and went to the BYU vs Oklahoma University game. HOLY MAN!!! I love love love college football! My voice is still recovering. There were over 75, 541 people there and only 15,000 tickets were sold to BYU fans. We were what you refer to as the minority. Oh but by the end the minority was ruling. That's right, BYU won 14-13! What a game! LOVED IT.

I got home on Sunday night and on Monday night Janis, Gwen and I hopped into a car and drove to St. George. I actually saw Tarah Linford Johnson. Didn't realize we hadn't talked in like 6 years...dang time flys when you are me. Then we went to Aida. I love that play. For the most part it was really good, but really Radames was a little too femme for my liking and Aida had this drop one shoulder and tilt your head back for every line she sang which got really old, but other that that pretty darn good. Go see it so we can compare notes.

Well, that sums up my life in a nut shell. I'm sure I will have a soapbox to stand on soon, so stay tuned. In the meantime I'm going to dedicate my blog to all those children suffering from Chicken Pox. Don't worry too much. If you live through it now you will get shingles later in life. VACCINATE YOUR KIDS GOSH DANG IT ALL!

Sue!!!!! Remember how you used to do everything I did about a year later?? Yes, well you are playing that game again, because I had shingles last December and I FEEL your pain! I'm so sorry. I too, thought they were for old people with weakened immune systems and I didn't really consider myself to fit either of those two descriptions, but yes, I had shingles (there's a blog post about if you want to dig through the archives and relive it with me). The itching is just awful. Anyway, sorry again and I hope it clears up soon. Love your guts

I can't believe you have shingles! Dang man. How do I... NOT... get shingles? :) I do have to be a big kid and get a flu shot in a couple of weeks. Have I told you I hate needles? And by that I mean: have I told you that this week yet?

Even though we don't exactly live in the same city, please let me know if I can do anything for you, okay??

I'm way jealous of your Texas travels. I like that Texas state.
