I'm in a really confusing mood tonight. I can't decided if I am in a mood to write a bunch of sentimental stuff or stick with my regular babbling side. I don't know if you have ever experience this but it's like being a sugar high and just wanting to be left by yourself...that's ironic...you know cuz when I'm hyper i like to have as many onlookers as conceivable. Ok moving on.
I like Chinese Food. There is something about that orange chicken at Panda Express that just warms my heart. Course, some might argue that that is not chinese food, that is fast food. I would say in return, does it give you that same saturated greasy feeling in your gut that won't leave for days and does it end with a fortune cookie? CHINESE! I love orange chicken because it's not really orange and yet it has that in its name and I love the color orange, the fabulous taste that leaves me craving more, and because my best friend michelle and I use to eat there all the time in high school. Whenever Michelle had to go to the dentist, her mom would convince my mom that I should go with them. My mom never let me miss school, not unless Mama Dodge convinced her. So we would get out of school, I wouldn't have to see the dentist, we would shop in the mall, and we would always eatout at Panda Express. We would usually get one side of beef and brocholi and one side of orange chicken to share. (No wonder we were skinny then!) I never see a Panda Express without thinking of those days. Course tonights memoirs of the geisha are not about orange chicken or even the dentist. Tonight i chose to discuss sweet and sour pork. I mean, don't you find that dish ironic. First of all, not so sour and second of all, gross. Not the sweet and sour pork, that stuff is divine, but the name. Who was the first person that thought hmm...sweet and sour, there's nothing like sucking on a lemon and then shoving a chocolate bar into my face! Or VISE VERSA! Some people should stay away from the menu. However, if i was placing my life on a Chinese menu i'd probably call it...well, I don't know what I'd call it. I'll keep babbling and something will come to me.

Yesterday was my last day of university classes. Talk about bittersweet (another stupid term, but what can one do?) Finally I can finish studying and start putting into practice everything i've wanted to do...and yet I am having to say goodbye to a lot of good friends. Now you all know my frustrations with ceramics, right? I hope you have caught the drift by now that I get frustrated with that wet torture. Well, we were finishing our last projects yesterday. I was slower than Amy and Starla, so as soon as they were finished without missing a beat I had one on each side of me smoothing out the bumps in my glaze. I took a second to just stand there and look at eachone and you know I think i could have just been happy staying there for a while. Well, irony of all ironies, Amy turns to me and says "Hey, we are done!" And you know, my eyes teared up. WHAT THE FREAK!? I mean, who cries in ceramics. Well, actually i have cried a few times, but it's been out of pure frustration with the class, and yesterday it was because we were done. Who cries over the end of ceramics? I guess I do as lame as that is. Man, that's like admitting you wet your pants in first grade, embarrising. Or how about this, I peed on a bee when I was little and it stung me. Truthfully, I wasn't sad that my clay days were over. I was sad that an era in my life is ending. Amy is headed to Texas because they will never find anyone equal to her. Starla is about to change the face of pediatric nursing at Primary's and they have no idea what is about to hit them. And I...am about to move to Lehi and file for unemplyment :) Yep, still waiting for that stimulus package to come through and give the change in my life hope.

I guess if my life was on a chinese menu it would be called Wong-tong change and hope soup. Change and hope to me are as ironic as sweet and sour. But you know, they work together in pork. I would never want to eat sour pork, and I probably wouldn't enjoy chocolate dipped pork as much as I enjoy chocolate dipped strawberries...just throwing that our there. Don't mock it till you try it...I guess. I'm sure that somehow this change and hope will work out too. Together there must be something waiting for us. Michelle and I graduated from high school. We never get to miss school, we never go to dentist together, and rarely are we close enough to eat orange chicken together, but we are still best friends. I'm sure it will be the same with my nursing friends. After all, friends who wipe butts together, stay together. Amy is going to be trying to convince all those horny toads to have some cougar pride, and Starla is going to have to those utes running! Hehe, I love those mental images! I wouldn't go back to high school and I'm sure someday I'll be saying that i wouldn't go back to college. Course that will probably be when i am in graduate school during finals week. Life is ironic like that. I'm positive there are some frustrating and sad days ahead of me, but I try to remember one thing Rachel always says to me, "But life is good, huh?" And it is...not what I planned but good.

I guess this one is dedicated to all those people who write the fortunes for those chinese cookies. What would the world be like without them? Possibly like the north pole without a compass...Santa would never find his way home and he'd be out of a job too. Here's hoping it's harder to take those away than it is for guns to be revoked!
